But it wasn't until I was 24 and in Vegas when I sat down at a 2/4 limit hold'em table, that I decided to make poker my game.
First limit hold'em, then no limit cash games. Though I loved the game, and was actually doing well in the brick and mortar casions, I couldn't crack it online. After my first year and a half, I was in the hole about $1500. Not that it's a lot of money, but this is supposed to be a beatable game, losing $1500 sure isn't beating it! So I swore off online poker for quite some time… until the fall of 2006.
It was then I decided to get serious about poker. No more messing around, playing an undisciplined game. It was time to focus and learn how to really play. So I started reading books, visiting websites, learning from professional players how they do it. And after a while, my game improved dramatically.
I quickly progressed from the $10 no limit tables to the $25's, to the $50's, and now I can beat the game at the $100 limits, and occassionally will play at the $200 limits, though maintaining consistancy there is more difficult for me, because profitable table selection is less plentiful.
In brick and mortar casinos, I play $1/2 No Limit, and in Vegas with drunk tourists, I'll play (and beat) $2/5 No Limit.
I've cashed out thousands in 2007, and I plan on cashing out tens of thousands in 2008. I've placed 1st in live No Limit Tournaments, and won countless Sit and Go's...though my record in tourney play isn't my strong point... I strongly prefer a cash game.
So for those of you who want to learn the game well enough to beat the game, you've come to the right spot.
